The Review - THEATRE

In the Wings

THREE’S company in Pinter’s early one-act play The Lover, but all is not as it seems.
The study of bourgeois morality is revived from this Friday at the Acton Community Theatre. It’s a step outside Camden, certainly, but worth it for Jack O’Connor’s AcT production.
The Lover is every Friday and Saturday, May 29-June 13.
Tickets can be booked on 020 8992 4557.

COMEDIAN Stephen Amos asks audiences to “Find The Funny” in his one-off stand up shows at Hackney Empire next month.
Judging by his previous performances on Have I Got News For You, The Royal Variety Show and in last year’s West End production of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest with Christian Slater, this should not be too hard. Amos will be at the Hackney Empire on June 5, 8pm.

YOU can’t swing a cat in London without hitting the itinerant sketch comedy group Unexpected Items at the moment.
Not that they deserve to be hit with cats – reviews in recent months have been overwhelmingly positive.
Ahead of their King’s Head shows in July 13-27, and forthcoming dates to be confirmed at the Hen and Chickens, there were shows this week at the Leicester Square Theatre on May 24, 25 and 27.
