This is no time to put panto season behind us

ALADDIN
Rosemary Branch Theatre

WHO says pantomime is just for Christmas?
From one evening with the Charles Court Opera, as far as I’m concerned, it should last all year round.
If the post-Christmas blues have well and truly kicked in then an evening of frivolous escapist fun is definitely the cure. Look no further than this re-working of the classic panto Aladdin.
The tale is brought to life by the exuberant company, returning to the Rosemary Branch following the success of last year’s production of Cinderella involving a plethora of outstandingly talented artists.
John Savournin as outlandish Widow Twankey, Kevin Kyle as Aladdin and the full supporting cast of young opera professionals all serve up a triumphant Christmas treat of operatic musical pie.
Musical theatre fans will delight at these versions of Chicago’s Roxy and the finale song, One Day More from Les Miserables, performed by the whole cast. Expect innuendo, dancing, screeching and lots of audience participation.
You’re in for a festive treat.
