In the wings

• NEARLY 200 acts and many split sides later the Cockadoodle Comedy Club welcomes back its prodigal son Steve Weiner, voted best new act of 2008.
The quick-witted Mr Weiner (real name or comedy `?) returns on Saturday March 15 with funny songstress Loretta Maine and stand-ups Pat Burtscher, Imran Yusuf and Gerry Howell in support.

• OH what a night the winners of our Jersey Boys competition have in store for them.
Desi Berman, Maria De Witte, Olivia Demosthenous, David Fielding, and John James each win a pair of top-price tickets to relive the magic of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons at the Prince Edward Theatre.

• BITE-SIZED bits of Bard are for the taking at the Bridewell Theatre this month.
City workers have the oppurtunity to exchange sushi for Shakespeare with the Lunchbox series of 45-minute shows – The Tempest, The Merchant of Venice and Romeo and Juliet – each for just £5. The Tempest heads the bill of classics from March 25

• ARTHUR Miller’s high-tension tale of witch-hunts and kangaroo courts in the Puritan community of Salem plays at Theatro Technis from Tuesday March 11.
