The Review - THEATRE
Published: 8 November 2007

In The Wings

OSCAR Wilde goes S&M in theatre company Second Skin’s new version of Salome, transporting the classic tale of lust to a risqué nightclub.
Director Andy McQuade returns to the Lion and the Unicorn Theatre with a Hollywood set designer in tow for the show, running until November 20.

POST-NATAL depression is not usually the stuff of comedy, but writer Roisin Rae promises visitors to the Etcetera Theatre some belly laughs.
Based on personal experience during her own pregnancy, Baby Talk pits yummy
mummies against troublesome toddlers in that age old battle: childbirth.
The show runs until November 18.

IT’S the last chance to catch Jeremy Paxman rapping, the former PM singing or a chorus-line of high-kicking Blair Babes as politico-musical Blair on Broadway ties up its run.
The show, written by journalistic duo Iain Hollingshead and Timothy Muller, is at the Hen and Chickens theatre in Islington until November 10

THOUGH it may strike sentient readers as a boat that has already sailed, the Edinburgh festival (at least some of its best bits) can be seen throughout November
in Kilburn.

Following the brilliant The Table, the Tricycle Theatre are continuing their anachronistic showcase with stand-up comic Francesca Martinez, as seen in Ricky Gervais’s Extras.
Hot on the heels of Ms Martinez, comic Jason Byrne amuses with his portmanteau of
wild-eyed observations from November 12-17.
