The Review - THEATRE
Published: 4 January 2007

In the wings

NOTES from the Underground, the pioneering existentialist novel by the Russian master Fyodor Dostoyevksy, is a dark tale about pleasure and pain.
Forty years ago an adaptation of the 19th-century story launched the career of iconic director Buzz Goodbody, the first woman ever to direct at the RSC.
The 40th anniversary production runs at the Arcola Theatre from January 15.

SHAKESPEARE is back. There is Twelfth Night and the Taming of the Shrew at Kevin Spacey’s Old Vic.
The RSC is staging Antony and Cleopatra and Much Ado About Nothing at the Novello and eyes down for the big one, Patrick Stewart as Prospero in The Tempest at the Novello in February.

The dreaded audience participation is on the cards in a new black comedy/theatrical gameshow at the Pleasance.
The Apocalypse Gameshow runs at the Pleasance Theatre on January 12 and 13.
