This buddy-buddy crime story starring Bruce Willis is the actor’s
usual fare. He is Jack Mosley, a cop with a sideline in wise-cracking
patter. Mosley’s task is to transport a criminal through
16 New York blocks, where he is due to stand as a witness in
a case that could incriminate Mosley’s colleagues.
Silent Hill
Any film based on a computer game is clearly going to have trouble
getting off the ground, and Silent Hill seems to have not even
reached the end of the runway.
Radha Mitchell is the mum searching for her missing daughter,
while fending off mythical beasties who appear from nowhere.
The plot gets no more complicated than that.
Freedomland
Samuel L Jackson and Julianne Moore star in this film by Spike
Lee.
Jackson is Lorenzo Council, a New York cop and it is up to him
to get to the bottom of a case of car-jacking and kidnapping.
Brenda Martin (Julianne Moore) claims she was attacked and the
culprit is assumed to be a young black male.
The film attempts to deal with race and policing – and
is perhaps the most serious film Jackson has made. |
