Big Match Special

Our weekly spotlight on one of the league’s big games

Under-10 B
Hampstead tigers 2
EC1 Elite 5

THE latest of our Big Match Specials saw Islington emerge victorious over Camden in a seven-goal thriller on Friday night.

Jason Williams put EC1 ahead almost immediately with a fine individual goal.
A spectacular 15-yard volley from skipper Billy Bagot, swiftly followed by a fine free kick from the captain saw EC1 3-0 up within minutes.
But Tigers roared back with Ryan Turner twice denied by James Boswall just before the break.
Boswall kept out Kristian Simmonds-Taylor at the restart but he could not deny Gregory Hollywood a deserved goal after a cute pass from Turner.
Harry Conway used his strength to get EC1 back into it, forcing a decent save from Alex Parsons, while Williams and Bagot were kept out by a double clearance from Ciaran Turner. Bagot was quickly called into action at the other end as Simmonds-Taylor and Ciaran Turner advanced, but Ryan Turner was not to be stopped for 3-2.
Tigers comeback was short-lived however, as EC1 settled it just before the end when Conway forced home the fourth and Arthur Hayden scored from the tightest of angles for the fifth.
