Letters to the Editor

Schools concert at Albert Hall hit all the right notes

• I MUST place on record my appreciation for the wonderful concert performed every two years by more than 2,000 Camden school students at the Royal Albert Hall which took place on Tuesday March 21.
It was a dream night when we saw the dedication young men and women in our schools have to music of all kinds; with an expertise and love that enchanted all of the audience.
No other borough anywhere in the UK organises and presents such a concert – can you imagine more than 2,000 young singers performing music from all over the world and the musical spectrum?
My praise to the teachers, the students, the parents and the education department of Camden Council for this production and for Jon Snow, broadcaster, and also a school governor in Camden, for his presentation of the performances and performers.
Encouragement of young people to learn musical skills and to perform in such a warm atmosphere and traditional musical venue as the Royal Albert Hall is part of Camden’s obvious dedication to education and encouragement of these young people in the beauty of music in all its forms.
Thanks for a great night and here’s to 2008 and the next concert.
