Blood and glory at Rocket Club

ALAN Higgins made it five victories from six fights when he won his bout in a special show hosted by Times ABC from Islington on Friday night.
The 17-year-old St Pancras ABC boxer beat Lee Markham from Five Star ABC in Romford on points in their senior contest at the Rocket Club in Holloway Road.
Trainee electrician Higgins, from Kilburn, had to wait until late on in a packed programme, attended by almost 500 boxing fans. But the London National Association of Clubs for Young People 75kg Champion kept his concentration to beat Markham by a majority decision.
Tufnell Park-based fighter Sean Mahoney, 17, was one of a string of Times boxers to take to the ring on the night. The Hampstead School sixth former went on to lose on points in his three round senior fight against Michael Enright from Ruislip.
