• CAMDEN Crawl launched in style at the Blues Kitchen this week. A
s it should be, the line-up was crammed with home-grown talent and the better for it.
Beautifully, shinily quiffed Kitty, Daisy and Lewis astounded their crowd, with a sound so much more mature than their years.
Man Like Me, with a slightly new line-up, had the audience eating out of the palms of their hands. Comical brass backing and a new sexy female backer completed their look, while frontman Johnny Langer leaped about the minute stage as if it was a bouncy castle.
Also on the bill were MPHO and Ou Est Le Swimming Pool. If this is just a small glimpse of what the Crawl has to offer, we’ll be getting our tickets yesterday.

• WHEN half of Jay Reatard’s band quit a month ago he didn’t get mad – he just sought replacements on Twitter.
Jay – real name Jimmy Lindsey – has had the same DIY punk attitude since first forming a one-man garage rock band in Memphis, Tennessee.
Most songs come in at under three minutes, with buzzsaw guitar but also melodies and catchy hooks threatening to break through.
His new album, Watch Me Fall, keeps the energy but turns up the tunefulness, sounding like the brat stepchild of the Buzzcocks.
He plays at the Underworld on Friday, November 13.
