Flugelhorn vs post-bop in Camden

PREVIEW: DICK PEARCE
Princess of Wales

TWO very different styles of trumpet and flugelhorn-playing are to be demonstrated on Sunday and Monday.
Long-cherished Dick Pearce will be bringing his classic jazz style to the weekly Pete Chapman Trio set on Sunday afternoon at the Princess of Wales, Chalcot Street, Primrose Hill.
His career as a professional musician started in 1972 when he joined the Graham Collier Band.
Subsequently he played with various bands before starting his own in 1993.
By contrast, at the opposite end of the age spectrum, Richard Turner will be playing his post-bop style with his Round Trip Quartet on Monday evening at The Con Bar in the delightful cellar of The Constitution by the canal on St Pancras Way.
Richard is one of the new crop of creative and imaginative players behind the new flouring of jazz in Britain.
