CHOOSE where you want to party into 2009 with this selection of top events for your New Year’s Eve.

Wherever you go, these venues are promising an amazing night. Don’t miss the Astoria and the Metro on their last New Year celebrations before they get demolished. Party hard – in five years’ time they’ll be nothing but a shiny new Tube stop.

BLOW Up: Celebrating New Year’s Eve with Blow Up. DJs Paul Tunkin and Ian Jackson play 60s Soul, 60s Beat and 60s Funk. The Metro (Oxford Street Tube) 9pm-4am, £15
Gold at Gilgamesh: This is one New Year’s party not to miss. A unique night with trapeze artists, snake charmers and contortionists as well as the star DJs Tom Crane, Dave Lee and Dan Corsi. Club De Fromage vs Feeling Gloomy: Join Fromage, Fat Tony and Slow Alfie as they go head to head with Gloomy’s Len and Cliff and enjoy a night of your favourite pop anthems, a balloon drop, free badges, cakes and pies. NEW Year’s Eve with The Smyths: The Smiths tribute for Smiths fans by Smiths fans. DJs ­playing a mix of Manchester vibes and festive freakouts. The Dublin Castle (Camden Town Tube) £15
Noah and The Whale: The last New Year’s Eve celebration at the Astoria 2 before the site is demolished. Presented by the promoter’s favourite band, Noah and The Whale. 9pm, £20
A Proud New Year’s Eve: Step into 2009 in style with a magnificent burlesque show starring Roxy Velvet, Kitty Bang Bang and Bijou Noir as well as fiery tricks of Lady Ane Angel. The night will also see live music from Love On The Rox and indie darlings The Displacements. Dress glamorous in black tie, fancy dress and burlesque as champagne reception with canapes and rum elixir cocktails awaits all guests. King’s Crossover – Camino and The Big Chill House: Camino will be ­transformed into a retro Latin fiesta courtesy of White Mischief. With live music before midnight and a DJ ­taking over the decks, you’re promised a great night of jazz, blues, rock ‘n’ roll and Latino.
On the other side of the road ­Sancho Panza is bringing Carnival to Big Chill House, famed for over 15 years of summer boat parties. Panza are bringing in their own AV crew to paint the space in light and ­transform the venue. Camino and The Big Chill House. (King’s Cross ­station) 8pm-5am, £35

Barfly, Chalk Farm Road: ­Casino Royale DJs will fill this venue with a fun-loving crowd along with a selection of surprise guests and celebs.
Monarch Bar, Chalk Farm Road: DJs Marky J Killer and Lindy Lou will be supporting the Ultimate Power Club DJs with a classic to the obscure mix of 70s to 00s, so be prepared for a night of guilty pleasures with Meat Loaf, Bon Jovi, Joe Cocker, Aerosmith...
Enterprise, Haverstock Hill: The indie cool club night Bloody Awful Poetry will be celebrating New Year’s Eve, joined by unique live acts The Rapscallions and The Bad Robots.
The Lock Tavern, Chalk Farm Road: Joined by DJs from two widely acclaimed club nights. Fabric and Paris Social Club residents ­Bloggers Delight (with DJs Skull Juice, Nik Nik Nik and Casper C). Expect a superb night as these DJs know exactly how to get you ­dancing on tables.
