FRESH from recording York Bowen’s complete Piano Sonatas for Hyperion, Danny Driver returns to the Wigmore Hall on Sunday (October 12). Driver will be performing the passionate, richly romantic Fifth Sonata alongside two renowned masterpieces of the piano repertoire with strong literary connections: Kreisleriana Op16, Schumann’s response to ETA Hoffman’s Kapellmeister Kreisler, and Gaspard de la Nuit, Ravel’s transcendental setting of three poems by Aloysius Bertrand.
