REVIEW THE SHOUT OUT LOUDS

TWO albums in and The Shout Out Louds should have more recognition than they do.
Their searingly brilliant single, Tonight I Have To Leave It, is a favourite among the indie-heads, but didn’t quite get the radio play it merited. It might have otherwise challenged dripping rain as the summer of 2008.
Helping to launch a five-day indoor festival celebrating the work of event promoters Club Fandango at Bar 229, the Shouts nonetheless showed they have a wealthy stock of similar doses of guitar, drums and good old-fashioned squeezebox.
They even upstaged the under-rated hillbilly charm of The Boy Least Likely To, who had to make do with a support role despite the whirring.
TBLLT would be even cooler if they didn’t allow their songs to be used on insurance TV ads, but are so fun to see live, we’ll let them off.
A new album is eagerly anticipated.
