Stumbling round the common in flowery wellies and hot sun, here's a quick round-up

NOAH and the Whale - dour, dry and sunny, although their music is suited to the daylight, they were on a little too early and easily missed.

Mylo - Scottish DJ rocked an ecstatic crowd, who crammed themselves into the Time Out tent to get as close to the dance guru as possible. Wiley - apparently the godfather of grime, left fans waiting in the tent for a good half hour while kind soundmen declined to mention he had failed to turn up.

DJ Yoda - clever mixes, from cartoon theme tunes to ragga to hardcore house via a touch of drum and bass, no time to get bored with his rapidly changing mixes.

The Hives - sufficient rock-star swaggering and functional rock.

Reverend and the Makers - best performance of the night, typical John McClure, ranting politics, spot poetry, and another impromptu al fresco treat as the reverend appealed to his congregation to follow him and his trusty guitar outside, where he played requests, new songs and a tribute to Peaches Geldof - Freeloading fatal friend.

Iggy Pop - old, full of energy, a little too much like Peter Stringfellow, solid performance from the great-great grandfather of rock.
