Lund series returns with guitar virtuosos

PREVIEW: JOHN ETHERIDGE AND KIT HOLMES: VILLANDRY JAZZ IN THE LUND
Lund Theatre, UCS

THE third series of Villandry Jazz in the Lund at University College School opens on September 4 with a performance by one of the most inspirational guitarists in the world, John Etheridge.
Etheridge has played with the biggest names in jazz, including Dizzy Gillespie and Stephane Grappelli, and has also toured the world as a duo with John Williams.
Next month’s concert will also feature the hugely talented, up-and-coming singer-songwriter and virtuoso guitarist Kit Holmes – one of a small number of female virtuoso acoustic guitarists on the circuit today.
The pairing of Etheridge and Holmes has gone down a storm everywhere they have played. For this performance they will take on a range of genres, from jazz and blues, to funk and soul.
The concert is sure to get the Lund series off to a great start, and is an exciting prospect for anyone interested in virtuoso guitar.
