A Long Note for your diary

PREVIEW: THE LONG NOTES
Underworld

FOLLOWING their rapturous reception at Glasgow’s International Celtic Connections Festival last month, The Long Notes will launch their eponymous debut album tomorrow (Friday) in Underworld, in Camden.
One of the UK’s top traditional acts The Long Notes unite the revered talents of Glaswegian fiddler/ guitarist Jamie Smith, London Irish banjo/ mandolin maestro Brian Kelly and Irish-born accordionist Colette O’Leary.
All three musicians have come to know each other through the Camden music scene.
The Long Notes are a powerhouse traditional trio who play a heady mix of jigs, reels, heartwarming airs from Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, Canada as well as self-penned compositions.
Musicians on the album include guitarist/ vocalist Ewan Robertson, Julia Reid on bouzouki and Paddy Gallagher on guitar.

• The Long Notes are at Camden’s Underworld on Friday, February 15, at 7.30pm. Entry is free. Upcoming concerts include St Patrick’s Day
celebrations at Trafalgar Square. www.myspace.com/thelongnotes
