Young star leads quintet

PREVIEW
JAZZ IN THE LUND: THE ARMBURG JENNINGS QUINTET
UNIVERSITY COLLEGE SCHOOL

FOLLOWING the success of this season’s opening Jazz in the Lund concert at UCS last month, the series continues with a performance by the The Armburg Jennings Quartet.

One of the best bands on the jazz scene today, The Armburg Jennings Quintet boasts five fantastic players, each of whom are in huge demand in the jazz world.
The band features Henry Armburg Jennings (trumpet), Alex Garnett (alto sax), Leon Greening (piano), Julian Bury (bass) and Mark Bryant (drums).
Each member is a master in Bebop jazz and leader of the band Henry plays with exceptional maturity for his age.
At just 18, he has achieved a huge amount and is already being seen as a star of the future.
He has been described as a young Gerrard Presencer and has been compared to legends Clifford Brown and Kenny Dorham.
After making their Jazz in the Lund debut last October the band will feature again on October 11.
They will perfrom jazz standards such as Body and Soul and All the Things You Are, along with some compositions of their own.
Definitely a concert not to be missed and if it’s anything like last year’s, it’s sure to amaze amd be electrifying.
