I'VE got great memories of Manchester. My very first night there, when I was a wide-eyed fresher at uni, was at a club called Mutz Nutz.
Picture the scene: a dingy club, 50p shots, some snogging in the corner, awful outfits and all to the soundtrack of the Stone Roses.
It was my first proper introduction to the ‘Madchester’ scene, whose heyday was sadly some years before my time.
But a new London club night could be drenching me in my nostalgia once more when it launches next Saturday, billed as a journey from Madchester to Britpop, with guest DJ Alan McGee opening proceedings.
