THE Mayfair home of Handel, which consistently presents interesting programmes of concerts and exhibitions – its Castrati programme has been running all summer – is putting on something completely different this week.
At a concert on Thursday the classical guitarist Francesco Mariani will be performing works by South American composers, including Villa Lobos, Augustin Barrios and Antonio Callos Jobim.
Mariani is one of the world’s most accomplished guitarists, and the music, infused with distinctive South American folk style, will be well placed in the 17th-century surroundings of the Handel House.
