The Review - MUSIC - grooves with CHARLOTTE CHAMBERS

And mum and dad played too

REVIEW: KITTY, DAISY AND LEWIS
Village Fete Regents Park

YET another act to come out of Acland Burghley secondary school, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis were the highlight of the Innocent Village Fête in Regent’s Park.
In the blazing sunshine of Saturday afternoon the siblings, accompanied by mum and dad, gave a stunning performance of their rockabilly racket.
OK, so a band playing music from the 1950s alongside their parents may be slightly twee, but on a light-hearted day of Pimm’s and bunting they were in their element.
Even before they played a note of their country sound I was impressed. You won’t have seen children dressed like this in a long time. And not only do the three youngsters have the most immaculately coiffeured quiffs, they are also insanely talented musicians.
The music department at Acland Burghley is obviously doing something right. Ms Dynamite, her Mobo award-winning younger brother Akala, and Man Like Me are only the most recent success stories of the Tufnell Park secondary.
And now Kitty, Daisy and Lewis are carrying on this tradition with their incredible musicianship and cheerful melodies, which will undoubtedly endear them to many people.
Catch them at the Underage Festival on Friday at Victoria Park or the Isle of Wight’s Bestival if you can.
