Islington Council's Partial Retraction of 18 Hr Heating Policy
Submitted by islington-tenant on Sun, 2010-01-10 03:04.So, Council Leader, Terry Stacy JP, has confirmed that in response to last week's Islington Tribune article regarding Spa Green estate residents' anger over an 18 hour heating policy and the effects it was having on residents, particulrly the elderly and infirm. Councillor Stacy says that he has given instructions for ALL DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEMS (ALL ESTATES) to be left on 24/7 for the duration of "the cold snap". It's a start and we residents can get back to the limitation on the “retraction” at a meeting, Wednesday next (13th January 2010) Town Hall, 7pm". The cold snap will last at least that long – so BE PREPARED!
