Subways to be safeways

DATED subways on the Harrow Road will be transformed following a petition from local residents that saw Transport for London pledge £674,000 to create ground-level crossings.
The shadowy walkways beneath the West Way, which have become a magnet for crime and violence, will be closed and Councillor Papya Qureshi said: “The new ground-level crossing will make crossing Harrow Road and Lord Hills Bridge a lot safer.”
