Chhaya Dixit with husband Navneet Rewal and their new baby girl
Couple’s new arrival just 13 minutes into 2008

WESTMINSTER’S first baby of 2008 is a little girl who arrived just 13 minutes into the new year.
While everybody else was dancing the night away, Chhaya Dixit, 34, and her husband Navneet Rewal, 36, waited patiently for the birth of their first child, a baby girl, at University College Hospital, Bloomsbury.
The labour took 24 hours but Ms Dixit said: “It was really magical to see her being born. You’re carrying this thing for nine months and then it comes out which is absolutely amazing when you consider what they started out as being, you know, just a cell.”
Mr Rewal’s family, who live in Australia, arrived in England on New Year’s Eve expecting the baby to be born on January 3.
He said: “She must have wanted to be a new year’s baby.
She’s the prettiest thing I have laid my eyes on. I could look at her for hours and hours and it’s still satisfying.”
