West End Extra - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 5 October 2007

With friends like Mayor Ken

• REGARDING the upcoming London Mayor elections – isn’t it time to think a little about Ken Livingstone’s “achievements” so far?
He has destroyed (and continues to do so) one of London’s most charming and distinctive features, Trafalgar Square, by his pigeon policy which amounts to the culling of the square’s pigeon population. He has introduced a congestion charge which isn’t working.
“Bendy buses” such as the 29 have as their chief feature more room for standing and excellent opportunities for thieves and violent late night revellers, and are a terror for cyclists.
With friends like Livingstone I doubt that London needs enemies.
Isn’t it time for Londoners to give him the heave-ho?
THOMAS ANDREWS
