ALTHOUGH I haven’t heard live any of the bands on the bill of the Oops night at Nambucca on February 24 featuring The Mescalitas, Operahouse, Chineapples and The Deltas, it should be good.
One of the bands were doing their bit handing out flyers outside the Dublin Castle at last week’s secret Little Man Tate gig. That kind of legwork always inspires me – they deserve a visit.
And Oh My God how exciting is the NME Tour? So many great bands to watch. You really should go to at least one.
And I’m also happy to see my much-tipped band, Brinkman, in the lineup supporting Regina Spektor at the Astoria on February 16.
Brinkman have gone from strength to strength since I saw them at the Dublin Castle this time last year. A poppy band with heart and great tunes, they were signed to EMI last year and were recently seen on TV performing on the Album Chart Show filmed at KOKO.
