Night at the Museum
Not one for adults, as the syrupy nature of this film is about as attractive now as the remains of your Christmas dinner. But the children I know who saw it said it was a riot.
Based on the well-worn premise of things coming alive when your back is turned Night At The Museum sees Ben Stiller as the night watchman taking a job at a natural history museum and then having to contend with exhibits which simply don’t want to stay in their display cases when the last visitor goes home.
Robin Williams and Ricky Gervais pop up, although Gervais’s screen time is limited, and the special effects are fun – but the moralistic nature of the tale is not enough to hold the attention of the older person accompanying the children to see this one. |
