Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 24 December 2008

Terror card a bad IDea

• I GREW up on a council estate in Northern Ireland during the 1970s and 1980s. Speaking from my own first-hand experience of growing up with terrorists I can say this government has been working full steam to encourage terrorism with its foreign and domestic policy.
They have learned nothing from 30 years of anti terrorism in NI. Having created this menace they now want to entrench it by turning us all into terrorist suspects by forcing a Nazi policy of ID cards. As Danny Morrison himself confirmed, the IRA gave up the armed struggle as they lost the intelligence war. We need a 180-degree shift in government foreign and domestic policy and to use the tens of billions we will save from not issuing ID cards to win the intelligence war.
