Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 5 December 2008

Puff goes recession

AT a time of economic confusion, might we now decriminalise the drugs trade?
This hugely profitable business, if liable to taxation, would certainly add revenue to the global macro-economy.
Criminal activity would reduce – America and Prohibition come to mind – and production/
distribution would be more equitable and less exploitative. Perhaps a cigarette manufacturer could resurrect plans for a cannabis cigarette, Passing Clouds (itself a revival of an old tobacco brand).
