Tube driver Steve Christie
Steve’s on track for marathon triumph

A TUBE driver from Archway will run the gruelling London Marathon this month to raise money for an Aids charity.
Steve Christie, who is based at East Finchley depot, has been working for London Underground for 12 years, first as a guard before becoming a driver. This will be the second marathon for Steve, who is also a keen swimmer. Soon after the April 13 run he’s off to Barcelona to compete in a swimming gala.
Steve said: “Training for the marathon is a great way to get fit and, although it’s tough at times, I love the challenge of completing the race.
“I’m raising money for the Terrence Higgins Trust, having known people who have suffered from Aids.” Steve has already raised £1,000 towards his £1,500 target. If you would like to sponsor him, go to www.justgiving.com/stephenchristie
