Diploma courses go-ahead

SCHOOLS minister Jim Knight has opened the way for Islington schools and colleges to offer new diploma subjects from September next year.
Courses will cover business, adminstration and finance; hair and beauty studies; information technology; environmental and land-based studies; manufacturing and product design; soci­ety, health and development; and creative and media. Open to students aged 14 to 19, the diploma courses will include maths and English.
