Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 2 March 2007

Action now might save lives

• THE hilly section of Hornsey Rise, at the crossroads with Hornsey Rise Gardens and Cromartie Road, Holloway, is dangerous, with at least one death occurring, fairly recently, since railings and a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights were installed.

On February 23 I returned home to find an ambulance crew and a bleeding, injured cyclist, propped against railings. The woman was lucky to escape alive.
The situation could be eased by installing traffic-calming measures, such as on Highgate West Hill. I urge Islington Council to take this possibly life-saving action.
ADAM COOK
Hornsey Rise Gardens, N19
