Wenger dressed to deceive

AAH, the enjoyment of putting an end to the Gunners Premiership challenge for another season.
Didier Drogba generated the loudest Ashburton ovation since Chelsea’s last visit – that’s the familiar clatter of seats being vacated 20 minutes before the final whistle as the audience (do they qualify as supporters?) rush to get home in time for the Antiques Roadshow.
At the kick-off a glance at the manager’s attire told you the contest was over before a ball was kicked. Carlo Ancelotti had gone all woolly hat and smurf on us. It was genius; on the outside friendly uncle, on the inside an inspirational and tactical assassin.
Glancing over at Arsene Wenger revealed a far more worrying state of affairs, a knee-length coat and box-fresh Nike trainers!
Disaster; on the outside a ticket tout, on the inside presumably thinking, “The kids will think I am well sick in this”.
I have long thought Wenger’s youth policy was having an adverse affect on his transfer decisions, but it now appears to have leaked into his wardrobe with disastrous consequences.
As Sir Alf Ramsey might have said: “You’ll win nothing looking like you have just popped into your local to off-load a few moody Christmas trees.”
