Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 8 October 2009

Euston Arch? Forget it

• A BIG 70ft fountain might be the first thing passengers leaving Euston Station see –when it’s working, (Arch fountain proposal, October 1) but passengers arriving at the station will see the huge hideous steel and glass silos behind the fountain.
The present station is unobtrusive, decent 1960s architecture. These new copycat buildings with no style or humanity will blight the Euston Road for the next 30 to 50 years. There’s no point in trying to rebuild the Euston Arch just to front those proposed eyesores. It’s a con and they must never be given planning permission.
