Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 8 October 2009

Global vision from High Street post office

• THE “modernisation” of Camden High Street post office means that I take ticket 100, and the screen displays number five so I sit listening to the automated voice which tells me the obvious, that it’s number five’s turn to get served.
And so it goes on for the next hour. Even more annoying is watching most of the staff sitting waiting to serve the more profitable customers for currency exchange etc while the rest of us, paying rent or picking up pensions etc, are treated like second best. This is a perfect example of exactly what we should now expect from the “global vision” that Gordon Brown has for Britain and his non-stop sell-off of Britain’s assets to the highest bidder. He’s produced a mergers and acquisitions frenzy which was not only the direct cause of the financial meltdown in the first place but is something he’s continuing to do, leaving us all in the hands of the anonymous global “machine”.
