High time our politicians asked questions of this housing association
• YOUR article (Same old storeys? October 1) highlighted the latest sell-off of homes in Camden, by One Housing, this time by a housing association.
One Housing also receives government funding to provide social housing. Their response to your reporter’s questions were very telling. “Our asset management strategy forms part of our internal business plan and we are not able to disclose any further details”.
What right has this organisation got to accept government funding and not disclose how it will spend it?
More to the point, should it not tell its Camden tenants what it plans to do with their rent money. Fortunately the New Journal is able to expose their arrogance. Is it not time that Liberal Democrat councillors who have responsibility for housing asked some pertinent questions of One Housing?
