All we need is love?

• GERALD Isaaman writes of “the constant diet of pervasive doom” on radio and TV (Feb 5).
Much of the news is of crises and tragedies. What would unify us? Do people want someone (or body of people) who is not a politician to say “I love you. Let’s be friends.”? Perhaps the people of Camden could lead the way in this.
