Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 29 January 2009

Cinema’s low prices are attractive

• NICE to see you promoting the excellent Prince Charles Cinema off Leicester Square (At the movies, January 22) even though it’s not strictly in Camden.
Despite the recession, the PCC is packing them in with low prices (£5 or under) for high-quality screening of a wide range of good movies that aren’t on in the local big chains.
We used to have a cinema like that in Belsize Park.
It was called the Screen on Hill but now it’s been poshed up and turned into an Everyman that shows mostly the same films as the local Vue and Odeons, with no concessions even for early-evening performances.
I don’t wish anyone bad fortune but did anyone at the Everyman ever ask what Screen customers wanted?
