Gunner girls coast into new year

Arsenal 7, Fulham 0

ARSENAL Ladies will go in to the new year boasting a six-point lead at the top of the table following an emphatic victory over Fulham on Thursday.
Striker Kelly Smith scored a stunning hat-trick as Vic Akers’ side made it 12 wins out of 12. A double strike from Kim Little and a goal apiece from Katie Chapman and Gemma Davison completed the rout.

Russell Cup: First Round
Camden Town 4, Katabella 1

CARMEL Clinton was the driving force behind Camden Town’s safe passage through to the second round of the Russell Cup on Sunday at Regent’s Park.
The midfielder bagged a brace after making the most of two inch-perfect crosses from Mary Guest to help guide Town to a convincing win over rivals Katabella.
Susanna Twidale added her name to the score sheet with a spectacular free-kick, while Sarah Boyall was also on target as the home side ran out 4-1 winners.

Russell Cup: First Round
Regent’s Park Rangers 1,
Tottenham Hotspur 2

SPURS needed extra-time to overcome Regent’s Park Rangers in the opening round of the Russell Cup on Sunday.
The Lilywhites had plenty of chances in the first-half but a strike from Natasha Ademakinwa was all that separated the sides at the break.
With just two minutes left on the clock, Spurs were made to pay the price for a host of missed chances when Rangers levelled from the penalty spot with their only real effort on target.
The game moved into extra-time, and with penalties looming a corner dropped to the feet of Shikiera Richards-Lake, who drilled home a late Tottenham winner.

Home Counties League: Under-10s Division
Luton Town 0, Spurs Blues 1

STRIKER Stephanie Kypri scored the only goal of the game as the Spurs ‘B’ team netted their second win of the season on Saturday.
Player-of-the-match Sydney Fairs and Amelia Shiner kept the home attack at bay, while Paris Williams offered Spurs a valuable outlet as they chased a much needed victory. The visitors finally grabbed the goal their overall team performance deserved when Kypri netted a late winner.
