Martin Halpin
Halpin the shoot-out hero

GOALKEEPER Martin Halpin was the hero of the hour on Sunday when Cobden Athletic (left) edged past Wellstead Wanderers in the London Cup.
The shot-stopper made a magnificent one-handed save to lead the Camden Sunday League side to victory as they survived a nail-biting penalty shoot-out.
In a thrilling cup tie, Chris Knott, Jason Williams and Patrick Jones were all on target as Cobden battled out a 3-3 draw against Wellstead to force penalties.
Elsewhere Constitution overcome Bromley Knights in their first-round tie. Bromley took the lead, but the Cons hit back through Reuben Malcolm to send the game into extra-time.
With penalties looming. Tom O’Neill made the vital breakthrough to give Constitution the lead, before Malcolm sealed a hard-fought 3-1 victory with his second goal of the game.
