Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 17 April 2008

Mixed grill on menu

• I AM writing in response to recent media speculation on a suggestion from a Liberal Democrat councillor to ban dairy products and meat from Camden’s canteens.

The Conservative group on Camden Council does not support such illiberal proposals.
We believe that residents and staff should be informed about healthy lifestyles, including healthy balanced diets and exercise.
We are clear that our responsibility should be to inform and to empower individuals to make their own choices on an informed basis.
I trust that this reassures readers that the Conservative group on Camden Council will not be restricting choice on canteen menus for staff.
I am sure readers will be pleased to hear that the canteen menu last Friday included mixed grill as one of the main option choices.
CLLR Martin Davies
Deputy leader of the Conservative group
Executive member for adult social care and health
