Stabbed librarian due back at work next week

A STAFF member stabbed at Swiss Cottage Library plans to return to work next week.
Ingrid Smits, a Camden librarian for nearly 20 years, was attacked while working last Wednesday.
Ms Smits said: “I’m having a week off to put up some distance.
“I was wearing a very thick cardigan, but it’s not a nice thought and I’ve been very lucky.”
She added: “It’s such a nice place to work, and the staff are so friendly. It’s one of those freak events.”
Lawrence Murphy, 44, of Fellows Road, Hampstead, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Saturday charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
He is due to be sent to Blackfriars Crown Court for trial.
