Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 21 February 2008

Bus crash safety question for Transport for London

• IT is absolutely disgraceful that Transport for London did not bother to survey the diversion routes for buses immediately after the awful Camden Town fire – as a result of which a bus hit a bridge and people were injured.
It was lucky that nobody was killed.
TfL appear to have no interest in road safety, for example, their putting the absurd bendy buses onto congested roads for which they are an extra hazard and their neglect to put up a temporary “no left turn” in Gray’s Inn Road when Camberwell Road was, owing to water main works, a one-way street.
Only my quickest reactions allowed me to avoid an accident.
One Saturday at the Adelaide Road junction with Primrose Hill Road, one traffic light was red and the other one green.
It’s high time TfL became a responsible body.
