Lib Dems go for grand slam
LIBERAL Democrats are going for a grand slam in Kentish Town by getting their hands on all three council seats in the ward.
The party already has two seats in Kentish Town and is aiming to take complete control by getting candidate Ralph Scott (pictured) elected when polls open next Thursday.
He has turned the campaign focus to sorting out transport problems – including the weekend Northern Line closures.
Mr Scott said: “I think Kentish Town West has been overlooked in the past. There are overground trains that go through the station but don’t stop. It is frustrating for passengers. More trains could be stopping there.”
He is also campaigning for a cleaner and safer station with better lighting.
Mr Scott added: “There is an increasingly desperate situation with trains being cancelled, the Tube station closed at weekends and the service being terrible anyhow – this is no longer sustainable and we will be taking this campaign as high as necessary.”
If Mr Scott is elected next Thursday, it will be the first time in four decades that Labour would have no representation in Kentish Town at all. |
