Estate takes a holiday for a day

PEOPLE have compared the architecture of the Maiden Lane estate to a holiday resort in the past, but on Sunday the prophecy came true.
Bollywood dancers and Latin American skirt-swirlers sashayed into the King’s Cross estate for the summer fair, cheered on by enthusiastic residents.
Other attractions at the fun day included bellydancers, teacup rides and a waltzer,
a climbing wall for the
more intrepid youngsters,
oriental food stalls, r’n’b outfit Move It Aside, and the one and only Mighty Maidens
cheerleaders.
Event organiser Rashida Sultana said: “We wanted to bring happiness back onto the estate. People deserve better than their getting.”
