It’s the place to give birth: Stars turn out to celebrate new look for hospital unit
THE stars were out in force in St John’s Wood to celebrate the refurbishment of the world famous birthing unit at the hospital of St John and St Elizabeth.
Cold Feet actress Fay Ripley, queen of property television Kirstie Allsop and West End stars Ian Kelsey and Mary McCartney were all at the 200-strong champagne launch on Thursday evening last week.
Mother-of-two Ms Allsop said: “It is the most amazing place you could have a baby.
“They have amazing systems of support and I never hesitate to recommend the Birth Unit as the place to give birth.”
Following the luxury refit all the bedrooms now boast new double beds. Personal tours of the unit are available every Saturday at 11am.
