Growing food not flowers

• I HAVE to thank you for Tom Moggach’s article on growing your own (Herbal heaven for the bold gardener, April 24).
Because of it I went along to the Funky Kitchen herb evening and came away from Map Café full of enthusiasm for making my small balcony a place to grow food not flowers.
For a very small outlay I shall enjoy a summer of watching my lunch grow on the window sill! Thank you for that.
