Angry: Protestors with placards outside the US Embassy
Fight for peace: Protests outside embassy

TROOPS out of Iraq”, was the cry from the sea of protesters who gathered outside the US embassy in Grosvenor Square on Wednesday.
Palestinian flags, banners and placards were thrust into the air before the thousand-strong crowd marched to Trafalgar Square on a day of protests in the capital.
Among the crowd who delivered a strong message to Barack Obama were the president of the Stop the War Campaign, Tony Benn, and former miners’ union leader Arthur Scargill.
Mr Benn said: “We are here today because we must end the siege in Gaza and free Palestine and get the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan.”
