Burglary couple appeal for return of baby video

A COUPLE from Maida Vale have made an emotional plea to thieves who stole their camcorder containing “priceless” footage of their newborn son.
Sandra and Michael Abittan live in one of two flats in Warrington Crescent that were ransacked last month.
They have put up a £100 reward for information about their camcorder, on which they had shot the first footage of their baby boy Arien just hours after he was born on Boxing Day. Jewellery and other electrical goods were also taken during the raid.
The family had only recently moved into the flats from St John’s Wood.
Mother-of-four Mrs Abittan said: “We had just got back from France to find out our home had been burgled.
“That camera has his first moments with us and the children at my bedside in the hospital. It’s absolutely priceless.
“We have only been living here a few months. It’s devastating. I just hope whoever has it will give it back.”
DC Steve Nicholls, of Westminster burglary squad, said: “Although a lot of valuable items were stolen, the video footage is of great sentimental value to the couple concerned and they are desperate to have it returned.
“I would like to hear from anyone who may have information to do with these burglaries, or has come across a Sony camcorder containing footage of a newborn baby.”
A man was seen acting suspiciously outside the flats around the time of the burglaries on January 20. He is described as aged between 30-40, 5ft 9ins, of medium build and wearing a beanie and dark jacket.
