Passport to history: Pimlico people revisit Ealing classic

GRANNIES and teenagers from Pimlico have been working side by side to celebrate their area’s heritage in a community remake of the 1940s classic comedy Passport to Pimlico.
The project, which has been led by environmental charity Groundwork in partnership with AK Arts, South Westminster Renewal Partnership and City West Homes, has brought together community members of all ages over the past two months to recreate scenes from the film in tribute to this crucial time in the area’s history.
The original black and white comedy was made in 1949 by Ealing Studios and follows a group of Pimlico residents asserting their independence from the rest of war time Britain.
